The Costa Blanca has quietly built itself into one of Spain’s most packed festival corridors. What used to be a handful of summer gigs has turned into a near-continuous season of music running from late April through mid-August, covering everything from heavy metal in Villena to jazz under the stars in Sant Joan d’Alacant.
Summer 2026 is no exception — and it comes with a headline story. After 15 years in Benidorm, Low Festival has moved to Torrevieja, making this a landmark year for the region’s live music scene. But Low is far from the only draw. With more than 17 festivals spread across the province of Alicante, there’s something on the bill for every taste.
May: The Season Kicks Off
Rocanrola — 30 April to 2 May | Alicante
The biggest date on the Costa Blanca’s rap and urban music calendar returns to the Multiespacio Rabasa in Alicante after being forced to cancel its October 2025 edition. This time around, the lineup features heavyweights of the Spanish scene including Hijos de la Ruina, Kase.O, Delaossa, and Fernandocosta. If hip-hop is your thing, this is the one.
El Muelle Live — 2 May to 26 September | Alicante
Not a single festival, but an entire season of concerts at the port of Alicante. Running all the way through to the end of September, El Muelle Live hosts a parade of Spanish and international headliners — Miguel Ríos, Pablo Alborán, Raphael, Sergio Dalma, La Gossa Sorda, and Vanesa Martín among them. It’s the kind of programme where you can pick and choose individual shows across the whole summer.
Sound Jordi — 9 May | Alcoi
A one-day celebration of music in Valencian language and youth culture in the inland city of Alcoi. The 2026 edition features Zahara, La Fúmiga, Rave, Naina, and Cactus. A smaller-scale event with a strong local identity — worth the short drive from the coast.
Iberia Festival — 23 May | Benidorm
Spanish rock in its purest form. The Iberia Festival takes over the Auditorio Julio Iglesias in Benidorm with a lineup built around legends of the genre: El Drogas, Evaristo, and Reincidentes. One evening, no filler — just loud guitars and attitude.
Spring Festival — 29 to 30 May | Alicante
The indie crowd’s annual pilgrimage to the Multiespacio Rabasa. The 2026 Spring Festival closes out May with Carolina Durante, Love of Lesbian (on their farewell tour), Siloé, La M.O.D.A, and a supporting card packed with names from Spain’s alternative scene. This one sells fast.
June: Rock, Comedy and All-Summer Residencies
Maror Fest — 26 to 27 June | La Vila Joiosa
A rock festival right by the sea in Villajoyosa. The 2026 edition features M-Clan, La Fúmiga (who are on their farewell tour), El Diluvi making a return to the stage, Carlos Ares, and Sanguijuelas del Guadiana. Two days, solid lineup, beachside setting — hard to beat for the price.
Salmaya Live — 26 to 28 June | Elche
Elche joins the festival circuit with Salmaya Live, a hybrid event mixing music and comedy in one of the most stunning settings on the Costa Blanca — the Palmeral de Elche, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ignatius Farray is the first confirmed act on the comedy side.
Área 12 — 27 June to 29 August | Alicante
Another full-season residency at the Multiespacio Rabasa in Alicante. Área 12 runs throughout the summer with a deliberately broad programme: Dani Martín, Viva Suecia, Hombres G, and The Black Crowes sit alongside themed party nights like Nostalgia Millennial and Love the 90’s. Check the calendar and pick your dates.
July: The Main Event
Reggaeton Beach Festival — 4 to 5 July | Alicante
Latin beats and sunshine — the formula hasn’t changed, and it still works. The Reggaeton Beach Festival returns to Alicante with Ñengo Flow, Roa, and Luar La L headlining two days of reggaeton under the Mediterranean sun.
Noches Mágicas — 24 July to 6 August | Sant Joan d’Alacant
One of the most established concert cycles on the Costa Blanca, running since 2011 in the Jardines de Abril in Sant Joan d’Alacant. Noches Mágicas pairs live music — Ana Torroja headlines this year — with sculpture, photography, and a dedicated gastro zone. It’s an intimate, open-air format that works beautifully on warm summer nights.
Big Sound Festival — 25 to 26 July | Torrevieja
Urban music lands in Torrevieja at the Parque Antonio Soria. The Big Sound lineup reads like a who’s who of Spanish-language pop and urban: Myke Towers, María Becerra, Ana Mena, Juan Magán, Omar Montes, and Leire Martínez. Two big nights right before Low Festival hits the same city — Torrevieja is having a moment.
Low Festival — 31 July to 2 August | Torrevieja
The big story of the summer. After 15 years at the Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor in Benidorm, Low Festival has relocated to Torrevieja following a dispute over rising costs and conditions imposed by Benidorm’s city council. The move was announced in late 2025 and sent ripples through the Spanish festival scene.
The festival itself remains what it’s always been: three days of indie, rock, and electronic music with a Mediterranean backdrop. The 2026 headliners include The Hives, Kasabian, Editors, Dani Fernández, and Iván Ferreiro. Whether the new location captures the magic of those Benidorm summers remains to be seen — but the lineup certainly isn’t pulling any punches.
August: The Grand Finale
Leyendas del Rock — 5 to 8 August | Villena
The 20th anniversary edition of Spain’s premier heavy metal and rock festival, held in the inland town of Villena. Four days of Helloween, Godsmack, Sepultura, and Slaughter To Prevail, among others. Leyendas del Rock has earned its reputation as one of the most important metal festivals in southern Europe, and this milestone edition is expected to be massive.
Reggaeton Millennial Fest — 7 to 8 August | Alicante
A nostalgia trip for anyone who grew up on early-2000s reggaeton and electrolatino. The Reggaeton Millennial Fest returns to Muelle 12 in Alicante with Gente de Zona, Alexis y Fido, Danny Romero, Dasoul, and more. Think of it as a singalong for an entire generation.
Brilla Torrevieja — 8 to 15 August | Torrevieja
A week-long programme of concerts, sports, and cultural events in Torrevieja. Lola Índigo, Los Delinqüentes, and Leiva are among the confirmed musical acts. Brilla goes beyond music — it’s a full cultural week that draws both residents and visitors during the peak of the summer.
Puerto Lumbreiras Festival — 13 to 15 August | Villena
Punk-rock returns to Villena with the revival of this legendary festival. Soziedad Alkoholika, Evaristo, La Pegatina, Reincidentes, and Narco lead a lineup that leans hard into punk, rock, and the spirit of rebellion. Three days in mid-August, right in the heart of the Costa Blanca’s inland territory.
Son de Spain — 14 to 15 August | Alicante
A brand-new festival for 2026, born from the SpainSays online community. Son de Spain sets up at El Muelle Live in the port of Alicante for a weekend dedicated to the soundtrack of Spanish pop across generations. Bustamante, Bebe, Maldita Nerea, Nena Daconte, and David Civera — it’s a celebration of the songs that defined an era.

Practical Tips for Festival Season on the Costa Blanca
Getting around: Most of these festivals are well connected by the Alicante TRAM network, and several venues (Multiespacio Rabasa, El Muelle Live) are easily reached from central Alicante. For events in Torrevieja, Villena, or Elche, a car or pre-booked bus transfer is the practical option.
Accommodation: Book early for the Low Festival and Leyendas del Rock weekends — both events draw national and international crowds. If you’re based in towns like Altea, Calpe, or Benidorm, most festival venues are within an hour’s drive.
Tickets: Prices vary widely. Spring Festival and Maror Fest offer strong value; Low Festival and the urban events command higher prices. Most festivals sell through their official websites or platforms like Taquilla.com and Entradas.com. Early-bird passes are usually the best deal.
Weather: This is the Costa Blanca in summer — expect daytime temperatures above 30°C. Evening events are more comfortable, but daytime festivals mean sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water. No exceptions.
The Bigger Picture
What stands out about the 2026 season is the sheer geographic spread. Alicante city is the undisputed hub, but Torrevieja is emerging fast — hosting both Big Sound and Low Festival back to back in late July. Villena holds its own as the rock and metal capital of the province. And smaller events in Alcoi, Elche, and La Vila Joiosa prove that the festival scene is spreading well beyond the traditional tourist hotspots.
